USHERS AND GREETERS
The role of usher, which includes greeting parishioners and visitors is a crucial part of worship. The usher is the first person who will greet them and will make them feel welcome and at home. It is one of the most visible ministries in the church. If interested in serving as an Usher, please call us at 301-355-7189 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Licensed and trained chalice bearers assist the celebrant at Sunday morning worship. Volunteers are always welcome.
The Lectors are member of the congregation who are assigned to read the lessons and psalms at worship services. If interested in serving as a Reader please let us know, call 301-355-7189 or send an e-mail to email@example.com
St. Bartholomew’s is currently offering one Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 AM. On most Sundays, this is a service of Holy Eucharist, Rite II. During the season of Lent we offered Rite l Holy Eucharist. On occasion we offer a service of Morning Prayer in place of Holy Eucharist.
The St. Bartholomew’s choir, under the direction of Music Director Lauren Fisher, sings at our Sunday 10:30 AM worship service.
During the season of Lent this year we offered Rite l Holy Eucharist on Sunday mornings and Reverend Jo-Ann led a mid-week Compline service on Zoom. On Good Friday Lauren Fisher presented a stunningly beautiful Tenebrae service.
Holy Baptism is offered as requested. The Diocese of Washington offers an annual service of Confirmation, Reception, and Reaffirmation of Baptismal Vows. This year that service took place at the Washington Nation Cathedral in May. St. Bartholomew’s presented two candidates, one for Confirmation and one for Reception.
We welcome visitors and parishioners to join us online at the 10:30 service. Scroll down for service streams. Recordings are available for on-demand viewing beginning Sunday afternoon (for morning services) on our website. All service live streams are simulcasted to our Facebook page and YouTube channel.
Recordings of previous worship services are also available.
