Laytonsville Town Picnic
The church growth committee is partnering with the Laytonsville Town Government to provide kid’s activities for their upcoming town picnic.
We are writing to invite all our parishioners to come to this picnic which will take place on Saturday September 21 from 5-9 pm. It is a wonderful old-fashioned event full of fun and free activities, especially for kids. From 5-7 pm there will be pony rides and a petting zoo provided by the town. The church is donating and staffing activity tables located in the church backyard. These activities include a balloon twisting artist, 2 face painters, rock painting table, crafts table and photo booth…all free. We will also have a church table staffed by Rev. Linda providing prayer beads, bubbles for the kids and information about our church with an invitation to attend worship.
The town also provides free popcorn, chips, drinks, ice cream, and cupcakes. A special cake-walk for kids takes place at 6:30 and then another one for adults after 7 pm. Sandwiches will be available from the Corned Beef King Food truck which will also offer vegetarian options and kid’s meals. This is the only cost families will have for the event.
We also need volunteers to help. The town offers a form for community service hours for any young people from church who can help us. The following are volunteer opportunities:
· 5-7 pm craft table attendants (if you can give one hour that is good too)
· 4:30-6 parking lot and memorial garden attendants
· 6-7:30 parking lot and memorial garden attendants
Please let us know if you are able to volunteer and please come. It is a great family event!
