Announcements for the week of October 14,  2018
 
Pastoral Care :  If you have a need for Pastoral Care in  Rev. Linda Calkins’s absence,  please call the church office (301) 355-7189 during regular office hours on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m.-3:00p.m. or you may call Nancy Row on  her cell phone, 301-674-2918 at other times.  E-mail address for Nancy is nancytrow@comcast.net.
 
On Sunday, October 21st there will be a special coffee hour to kick off our Annual Giving Campaign after the 10:30 service. We hope to see you there.

Prayer Beads Workshops:  We will resume our prayer beads workshops in October.  The following is our schedule for the remainder of the year.  Please plan to join us as we make beads and eat pizza!  No experience is necessary.
October 16th, Tuesday at 6:30 PM
October 17th, Wednesday at noon
November 13th, Tuesday at 6:30 PM
November 14th, Wednesday at noon
December 18th, Tuesday at 6:30 PM
December 19th, Wednesday at noon

St. John’s & Bartholomew’s Youth Group (“Jay Bees”) will be starting Sun., 9/23. 
  • 10/21:  Confirmation Classes begin at St. John’s, 6:00-9:00 PM (more info to come)

All times are from 4:00-6:00 PM unless otherwise mentioned.  The routine will be:

  • 1st Sundays:  NoMoCo
  • 2nd Sundays:  Jay Bees Youth Group
  • 3rd Sundays:  Confirmation Classes (combined with Sts. Johns and other NoMoCo parishes (TBD)); locations will rotate among the participating parishes
  • 4th Sundays:  Jay Bees Youth Group
  • 5th Sundays:  special events (note that only Sep., Dec., and Mar. have 5th Sundays)

Activity/Craft: Learning to set the table activity/ Mary and Martha Puppet Craft
November 11– Non Perishable Food Drive 
Lesson: Loaves and Fishes
Activity/ Craft: Helping others brainstorming/ Nutrition Balancing Craft
November 18
*Cooking/ Baking Lesson* 
We will be using gluten and egg ingredients. NO nut products will be used. 
Adult Participation Welcome 
⭐️ We will be serving our treats at a special after service “Coffee Hour Party” ⭐️
November 25
Children remain upstairs during the service for a special children’s sermon and communion.

Activity/ Craft: Pageant Costume Fitting, Rehearsal, and Song Practice/ Christmas Gift: Handprint on Canvas Craft
December 16 *Christmas Pageant*
Please arrive no later than 10:10. Adult Participation is needed to help change in and out of costumes. Following the service a special visitor will arrive in the undercroft!
